Hi, I’m back to tell you more about the monkey party.
So where was I?
I made 3 cakes.
Oh yeah, so I needed cupcakes.
I made the faces out of fondant, and they had different expressions:
Here they are in a little tower:
So, with all that, I still thought it wasn’t enough.
I decided to throw in some sugar cookies. In banana shapes, of course.
Monkeys like bananas—get it?
That’s great, except I never piped icing on cookies before. I guess I like a challenge. Or I must like the stress…
Yeah, I don’t think so.
Either way, I thought it was a good idea. I guess they came out OK. At least they tasted yummy!
And then I got another bright idea.
Cake balls. Made with banana cake.
Yes, they were pretty simple to make, but time consuming. I put them in cute mini cupcake liners, and they didn’t look too bad!
These were a hit. People loved them.
Mission accomplished.
I also found these cute chocolate molds and made 30 lollipops. And it took 20 minutes to make each one because of all the different colors. At times, I wanted to scream. But it was worth it.
And finally, the full dessert table—my first one ever!
So that’s it for now! I can’t wait until the next party.
Um, did I really just say that?
Yeah, remind me when it’s the day before the party and I’m freaking out.

WOW! You really outdid yourself this time. Everything looks so great. You could go pro…
Aw, thank you– that’s so sweet of you!!!
Your Monkey Candy Pops look great! I work in the Wilton Test Kitchen, and I know it takes some time and a steady hand to get all of the different candy colors in the right places. Well done!

“Pretty Baking” indeed! I love all the different ways you used desserts to complete a monkey theme. Such variety! What kind of icing did you use on the banana sugar cookies? (Oh, and I just realized I now need to go check out part 1!)
Thank you, Lindsey! I used royal icing on the cookies (my first time ever).
These are awesome! I love their little expressions
Great job!
Thank you so much!!
Amazing work. Love everything especially those cute expressions…and those candy pops look like they are from a store as does everything else. When I grow up I want a kitchenaid mixer and to be able to bake like you.
Lol, thank you!! And I just got my mixer about 2 years ago– totally worth it!!
Geraldine, this is super cute monkey! definitely I’ll copy this brilliant idea, May I?
Thank you!! Of course you can copy it!!
