My name is Geraldine and I love desserts. And food in general. In the past few years, I’ve developed a passion for baking—so I thought it would be fun to start a blog about it!

I work full time and I have 4 kids, which makes it almost impossible to dedicate a lot of time to baking. I’ve never taken a class and I didn’t grow up in a baking family. So I’m still practicing and hope to get better with time. I figure this blog will help me document my attempts…

(You probably won’t believe this considering how much I bake, but aside from trying some bites of all kinds of desserts, I eat a low fat diet. I’ve been doing it for years. So occasionally I plan on posting low fat recipes.)

Oh yeah– I forgot to tell you that I also love to decorate cakes and plan parties (especially theme parties)!!

    Hello Geraldine, thanks for liking my post about my first (fake-)stacked cake. I’ve only read a bit of your blog but it looks fun! I am a mom of a baby and toddler, working parttime and would like more time for my hobbies as well. The toddler is reaching the age now where we can start baking together a bit, although the mess is 3 times as much as when I would bake alone (and I can make a good mess myself allready). I think I’ll enjoy reading your blog, about the baking, but also a bit about your life, where the baking and family meet, like with the buttescotch/caramel bars your husband doesn’t like :).

      Aw, I’m glad you enjoyed reading my blog– thank you. I know, it really is tough with young kids. My 4 year old loves to bake with me, but as you said, it’s a big mess! Haha. 🙂 But still they do enjoy it so much, and they really enjoy eating the desserts too!! Good luck– and I’ll stop by your blog too!!

        Thanks Geraldine – I really love yours too! From DC to Alabama – that’s quite a culture shock! There’s so much to love about the South though. Everything seems a little less rushed there – we could use some of that in DC! 😉

    i am soooo glad that you stopped by my blog because now I’ve discovered yours. I’m actually just leaving work and heading to the grocery store to get the goods to make my boys’ b-day cake for Saturday’s party – double party means only one cake!!.     This is a great find – your blog is what I need in my life. You can be my pretty mentor. I love to bake, but man do I struggle with the decorating. I think that’s why I gravitate to pie – you don’t have to make it pretty after you bake it. 🙂 I’ll keep up with you and maybe I’ll embrace making things pretty finally!
